In physical geography, the tundra is an area where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons. There are two types of tundra: Polar tundrawhich occurs in Antarctartica, and Alpine tundra. In tundra, the vegetation is made of dwarf shrubs, sedges, grasses, mosses, and lichens. Scattered trees grow in some tundras. The ecotone (or ecological boundary region) between the tundra and the forest is known as the tree line or timberline.The climate in the tundras are horrible. Every tundra has temperature below 15f. If you are going to the tundra here are some suggestions of what you should wear: Wooly warm coat, pants, skully caps, gloves, tall socks, and nice big warm long sleeved torso.
The tundra is located... Polar tundra can be found in Antarctica, the North, Northern parts of Canada, Alaska, Greenland, and the United States. Alpine tundra is not found in areas as polar tundra. Alpine tundra is spreaded in many regions all around the world. Here are a some places where alpine tundra can be discovered: Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, Baffin Island in North Eastern Canada, Northern Scandinavia and Northern regions of Russia and Siberia, Colorado Mountain and Pikes Peak in Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park in Colorado, Obstruction Point in Olympic National Park in Washington, Mount Washington in White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, Humphrey's Peak which is part of the San Francisco Peaks in Arizona, Mount Katahdin at the terminus of the Appalachian Trail in Maine, Little Diomede Island of the United States, and Big Diomede Island of the Soviet Union. | Polar Tundra
